Mama Elephant Designer Series - Happy Birthday To You

Hello everyone! Amy here with my Designer Series post for Mama Elephant featuring the new January Release Fly With Me and Scripty Bday stamp sets. For today, I made a sweet tri-fold design birthday card. Let's take a look!

To begin, I made two A2 top folding card base with Bristol paper. I adhered them together to make a tri-fold design so that the inside flap opens for a place to write your message.

I die-cut the front panel with the scallop circle from All Prettied Up - Creative Cuts and stamped the sentiment "Happy Birthday To You" from Scripty Bday. Then, I die-cut trimmed acetate with the cloud border from Landscape Trio - Creative Cuts to make a stencil. I used the stencil to make the clouds by applying Distress Inks with finger daubers on the inside panel. After, I spritzed it with water to add texture.

I colored the images from Fly With Me and the birthday hats from The Dog's Woof with Copics and cut them out with Fly With Me - Creative Cuts and The Dog's Woof -Creative Cuts. I added highlights on the elephants with a white gel pen.

To finish, I adhered all the images to the card as shown.

I made a love/valentine's day themed card using the sweetest critters from the Raving Raccoons stamp set inspired by the sketch.

After, I stamped the panel with Wood Plank Background stamp and Bubblegum Premium Dye Ink. I inked the die-cut heart with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.

To assemble, I mounted the front panel with foam tape and added the inked heart as shown to a top folding card base. I adhered the raccoons. MFT - Yay for You Card Kit Release Day

Hi everyone! It's time!! The awesome Yay for You Card Kit is now available for purchase at the MFT Boutique! For today, I created a fun and festive birthday card to share with you!

To begin, I made a confetti stencil by die-cutting acetate with Celebratory Confetti Die-namics (kit). This is a great way to get more out of your dies! I used the stencil to add a colorful confetti background as shown using various Distress Inks on cut white cardstock. I also blended the middle of the panel with yellow, pink and blue Distress Inks. The colors can be found on the Supplies List below. I adhered the confetti panel to an A2 Razzle Berry panel.

I die-cut the word "Yay" four times using the So Many Yays Die-namics (kit). I glued the words together and adhered it to the front. Then, I stamped the "It's Your Birthday" from the Yay for You stamp set (kit) on Cotton Candy cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. I used the sentiment strip from Hearts in a Row - Horizontal to die-cut it out. After, I mounted it with foam tape to the front.

The adorable pig from BB Hog Heaven was stamped and colored with Copics. After I fussy cut the pig, I mounted it to the front as shown. To finish, I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins.

Purple Onion Designs - Hello Friend!

Hi there! Today, I'm sharing a friendship card with a sweet winter scene. I used rubber stamps from Purple Onion Designs that was illustrated by Stacey Yacula.

To begin, I cut smooth white Bristol paper to an A2 panel. I stamped the Large Winter Picket Fence and the Snow Cabin on Hill with Extreme Black Hybrid (great for Copics and water coloring). I masked the house and the hills and ink blended the sky with Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress Inks. I also added light blue shadows underneath the fence and around the hills with Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. After, I colored the fence, house and the trees with Copics.

I stamped the two adorable friends Cedar (fox) and Silver (winter bird -sitting) and colored them with Copics. To create my front oval frame, I die cut white A2 panel with an Inside Out Stitched Oval Stax. I stamped the sentiment "Hello Friend" from Sweet Summer Sentiment Set. I splattered the background panel and the two critters with Copic Opaque White to create a snowing scene.

To assemble, I adhered the background panel to a top folding card base. Then, I mounted the oval frame on top with two layers of mounting tape. Lastly, I mounted the critters with a single layer of mounting tape and added light shadows underneath Cedar and the fence with Copics.

MFT January Card Kit Countdown Day 2

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of My Favorite Things Yay for You Card Kit Countdown. This fun and celebratory kit will go on sale later, January 23rd at 9:00pm EST in the MFT store!

Today I'm sharing a fun birthday shaker card.

To begin, I made a stencil by die-cutting acetate with the Celebratory Confetti Die-namics (kit). Then, I used finger daubers with various Premium Dye Inks and the confetti stencil to create a colorful background on a  white A2 panel cardstock. I used the Celebratory Confetti Die-namics again to cut various cardstocks (colors that coordinated with the Premium Dye Inks I used earlier) to create my shaker elements. I  glued on some of the die-cuts to the background.

To create the shaker window I die-cut A2 Razzle Berry cardstock with the small stitched panel from Blueprints 3. I adhered the back of the window with cut acetate. I mounted the window with two layers of Mounting Tape to the confetti-filled background panel.

I die-cut white cardstock with one of the "YAY" from So Many Yays Die-namics (kit) and adhered it to the window. I used the sentiment "It's Your Birthday" from Yay for You stamp set (kit). I embossed it with white embossing powder on Razzle Berry cardstock and die-cut it with a sentiment strip from Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics. To finish, I adhered it to the front window as shown.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight - Fly With Me

Hello and welcome to Mama Elephant's January Release Stamp Highlight. Today, we're showcasing the sweet and adorable Fly With Me stamp set along with the coordinating Creative Cuts.

To begin, I stamped the images with Gray Flannel Memento Dye Ink (to give it a softer look) and colored them with Copics. I added more shading to the images with Prismacolor Pencils.  Using the pencils allowed me to have more control. After, I cut them out with the coordinating Creative Cuts

I made a simple sky on watercolored paper using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink refill. I diluted the ink with water. I started darker on the top and added more water to the paint brush as I went down the card. While it was still wet, I carefully blotted some of the areas with paper towel to remove the color to create the clouds.  When I was done, the clouds weren't light enough so I blended in white chalk to make it whiter. The sentiment was embossed with silver embossing powder.

To finish, I mounted the images with foam tape. The card fits in a #10 envelope that measures 4 1/8"x 9 1/2".

I made a new baby girl card combining the kit and the LLD Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics.

I created the cloud panel using the Cloud Stencil with the Premium Cotton Candy Dye Ink. I stamped the sentiment from Yay for You stamp set (kit) with Razzle Berry Premium Dye Ink. I die-cut Cotton Candy Sparkle Cardstock with the word "YAY" die-manics (kit). The baby clothes, clothesline, bows, and the clothespins were die-cut with LLD Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics using the Smooth White cardstock,  Razzle Berry and white polka dot pink pattern paper from the Party Patterns Pack

I adhered the cut A2 panel of white polka dot pink pattern paper to a top folding card base. Then, I mounted the cloud panel on top with Foam Mounting Tape. Pretty Pink Posh - Happy Valentine's Day

Hello crafty friends! I'm stopping by today to share two cute Valentine's day card using Pretty Pink Posh Cupid Friends stamp set and Love Shaker Die.

For both cards, I stamped and colored the adorable cupids from Cupid Friends with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies.  I die-cut pink sparkle and white (3x) cardstocks with the Love Shaker Die. I adhered all four layers with glue and put it aside to dry. To create the front panel, I used the negative cut (from using the Love You Shaker Die) to add a pink heart to the center using dye ink with a blending tool. Next, I used a stencil to create the pink rays radiating from the heart. I adhered the die-cut heart and mounted the cupids with foam tape as shown. To finish, I glued on the Sparkling Clear Sequins Mix.

The second card is a smaller and simpler version of the first. I embossed the gorgeous sentiment from the stamp set with silver embossing powder.

If you enjoy making Valentine's day cards like I do the Cupid Friends stamp set and Love Shaker Die will be a great addition to your collection!

Purple Onion Designs: With a Thankful Heart

Hi there! I'm back with a thank you card using rubberstamps illustrated by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs. It features the adorable Sweetheart (owl with heart) and the beautiful Blossoming-Perch.

I stamped the owl and the blossoming perch three times and colored them with Copics. I used white gel pen to added highlights to the owl and white dots on the flower. I wanted to create a flower wreath for the owl so I cut apart the perch a shown.

To create the inked background, I die-cut masking paper with a medium size circle die and adhered the negative on the front panal. I blended the inside of the circle with Fossilzed Amber and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxides. I spritzed it with water to add some texture.

I stamped the sentiment using Sweetest Greetings from Mama Elephant.

I mounted the flowers, perch, and the owl with foam tape to the front panel for dimension. To finish,  I drew in tiny circles (colored with Copics) and black dots around the wreath to add more interest.

Thanks for stopping by today! Wishing you all a wonderful and crafty weekend!

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: Scripty Bday

Hello and welcome to the second stamp highlight for Mama Elephant's January Release. Today, we're showcasing the bouncy and fun Scripty Bday sentiment stamp set that was hand-lettered by Kryssi.

To begin, I ink blended an A2 Bristol panel with Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. After, I spritzed it with water to add texture. Once dried, I stamped the sentiment from Scripty Bday and embossed it with silver embossing powder.

For the shaker window I die-cut white cardstock with the Grid Window Creative Cuts. I removed the four sqaures in the middle to create an opening for the sentiment as shown. I adhered trimmed acetate to the back of the window. I added the shaker element to the background panel and mounted the window panel with mounting tape.

The adorable images inside the small squares are from the The Dog's Woof and The Cat's Meow stamp sets. I colored them with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating The Dogs Woof Creative Cuts and The Cats Meow Creative Cuts. To finish, I adhered the images to the front of the card as shown.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight: The Dog's Woof

Hello and welcome to the first stamp highlight for Mama Elephant's January Release.

Today we're showcasing the adorable and much anticipated The Dog's Woof stamp set along with the coordinating Creative Cuts.

To give these dogs a softer look, I stamped them with Momento Rich Cocoa Ink and colored them with Copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Then, I used various heart Creative Cuts from my Mama Elephant collection to die-cut trimmed acetate, making my own stencil.  I used the stencil along with Distress Inks to create the heart background on Bristol cardstock. The "Sending All My Love" sentiment is from the Occasional Labels stamp set. To finish, I mounted the dogs and the sentiment with foam tape for dimension.
