MFT APRIL RELEASE COUNTDOWN DAY 3

Hello and welcome to day three of MY Favorite Things April Release Countdown.
My card today features the fun and adorable Pure Innocence Birthday Piñata stamp set.

To begin, I stamped the images from Pure Innocence Birthday Piñata and the tree branch from Harvest Buddies with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink on Neenah Classic Crest 80lb. I colored it with Copic markers and cut them out with coordinating dies. I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the images and details on the girl's dress.

I inked the front panel with Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxides with blending tool on Bristol paper. I spritzed the panel with water using the Distress Sprayer to add texture.

To make the hill panel, I die-cut Sour Apple card stock with a die from Snow Drifts Die-namics. I inked the edges with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white.

I used Hemp Cord to attach the piñata to the tree branch. To finish, I used a tape runner or foam mounting tape to add the images to the card front.

To make cloud panel, I die-cut trimmed smooth white card stock with a die from Stitched Cloud Edges and lightly inked it with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. The sentiment on the cloud was embossed in silver.

To make the grass panel, I die-cut trimmed Sour Apple card stock with a die from Grassy Hills Die-namics and inked it with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to add a touch of darker green.

For the front panel,  I inked trimmed smooth white card stock using the Mini Cloud Stencil and Peacock Feathers distress Oxide.  After, I adhered it to a top folding A2 card base.

MFT MARCH HITS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Hello crafty friends! I'm here to share with you my card for My Favorite Things March Hits and Highlights challenge.  This month it's all about using pastel pattern paper...pretty easy considering MFT has a great selection of dots, stripes, or florals in their collection of pattern paper packs to choose from.

To begin, I stamped the images from the adorable BB Our Story stamp set with Cement Gray Hybrid Ink on white smooth cardstock. I colored with copics (except for the sofa) and used brown Copic Multiliners to darken the eyes and mouth of the images and fussy cut them out.

To create the room, I die-cut the pink strips and green dots paper from the Dots and Stripes Confection Pattern Paper Pack with a die from Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2.  I adhered the pattern papers as shown to a top folding A2 sized card base. I also die-cut white cardstock with the scallop die again to add just the white scallop borders on the green dots panel to make the molding.

I added pattern paper on the sofa using the paper piecing technique. I stamped the girl sitting on her sofa again, this time on blue gingham paper and I cut out just the sofa.  Then, I adhered the pattern paper to the image that was stamped and colored before. I used Copic markers on the gingham sofa to create depth.

I stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and used a sentiment die from Hearts in a Row (vertical) to cut it out.

To finish, I adhered the images and the sentiment as shown to the card front.

I hope you enjoyed today's card and I inspired you to get your pattern papers out and create something fun! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day and happy cardmaking!!

Lots Of Letters - Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Hello crafty friends! Today, Mama Elephant's design team is showcasing the Lots Of Letters stamp set. This set includes small fun letters that allow you to create your own sentiment for your projects.

For today, I made an interactive pop-up Easter card combining Lots Of Letters stamp set, and Inside Pop Bunny And Cat Creative Cuts from the March release.

To begin, I die-cut and assembled all the pieces I used in this card. I die-cut the bunnies using Inside Pop Bunny And Cat Creative Cuts. The rainbow and the clouds using Rainbow High Creative Cuts. The grass panels using Grassy Trio Creative Cuts. Then I trimmed cardstocks for the card front as well as the two panels for the inside of the card for the A2 sized top folding card base.

I stamped "Hoppy Easter" using the small block letters from Lots Of Letters and embossed it with white embossing powder. Then, I adhered the card front panel, the bunny, and the grass panel as shown. Next, I adhered the trimmed cardstock panels, the grass, rainbow, clouds, and the pop-up bunny as shown. I used regular and foam tapes to adhere the images and the panels. That's it for today!

MFT MARCH 2017 CARD KIT COUNTDOWN DAY 1

Hello! It's Day 2 of My Favorite Things Card Kit Countdown. The new Bundle of Balloons Card Kit will be available for purchase tonight at 9:00 pm EDT

I have a fun birthday shaker card to share with you today!

To begin, I created the balloon patterned background with an acetate stencil I made using an older Birthday Balloons Die-namics. I inked the balloons with pastel Premium Dye Inks (see supplies for colors) I drew in white strings with a white gel pen.

Then, I die-cut white cardstock with the Alphabet Balloon Die-namics from the new kit to spell out "HOORAY".  I removed the letters and inked the balloons with the same colors as the background balloons. After, I added tape behind the balloons and adhered the letters back in and lightly went over them with the same inks. This helped to soften the white but still have contrast with the balloons to make the letters stand out. Next, I glued the strings behind the balloons that were die-cut with white cardstock with a wavy string die from the Birthday Balloons Die-namics.

To create the shaker window frame, I die-cut white cardstock with the largest die from Single Stitch Line Rectangle Die-namics. I adhered trimmed acetate behind it. I glued on few pieces of Jewels to the balloon patterned background. Then, I mounted the frame to the background panel after adding more jewels as the shaker element.

I wanted a banner to hold the balloons together, so I die-cut white cardstock with a fish tale flag die from Tag Builder Blueprint 5. I stamped the sentiment "It's Your Birthday" and embossed it with silver embossing powder.

To finish, I adhered the balloons and the sentiment banner as shown.

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit:

This month there is also a fun PROMOTION with the card kit:
Five special prizes will be placed in five random card kit boxes. The prizes will be gift vouchers that will be placed inside hot pink balloons in the following amounts:
$25, $25, $25, $50, and $100

Me and My Dragon - Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight

Hi there! Today Mama Elephant is featuring ME AND MY DRAGON stamp set and coordinating Creative Cuts for Stamp Highlight. This amazing set of the cutest dragons definitely has become one of my all-time favorite!

My card today is an encouragement scene card with a fun wobbling dragon. I used ME AND MY DRAGON set along with the new Kingdom Trio Creative Cuts, they go perfectly together. Let's take a look!

To begin, I stamped the dragon and the little girl with light gray Copic friendly ink on smooth white cardstock for no-line coloring. I colored the images with Copics. It's hard to see in the photo but I created texture on the dragon by dabbing him with a small cheesecloth that was dampened with Copic Colorless Blender. I also used a white gel pen to add details and highlights. I went over the eyes and nose with Black Copic Multiliner darken them.

I die-cut the city panel with black cardstock with a die from
Kingdom Trio Creative Cuts. I lightly applied white pigment ink with a finger dauber and added details with a colored pencil to add interest. I stamped the sentiment on this panel and embossed it with white embossing powder.

I die-cut the mountain panel using dark blue cardstock with a die from Kingdom Trio Creative Cuts. I also added white pigment ink here as well.

I created the night sky on the A2 sized front panel using Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Oxides. To make the stars I splattered Copic Opaque White that was diluted with water.

To assemble the card, I adhered the mountain panel to the front panel, with double-sided tape. Then, I mounted the city panel with Foam tape on top of the mountain. Lastly, I taped a handmade action wobbler made of thin craft wire and attached it to the dragon and then to the front the panel to add that interactive fun. The best part of the wobbler for me is when the recipient takes the card out of the envelope the dragon will pop up and wobble on its own. So fun!!! That's it for me today.

You can watch the dragon wobble!
