This card fits in a 5x7 envelope. To create the box panels, I trimmed 2 cardstocks to 6 3/4" x 7" and scored lines at 5 1/2", 6 3/4. I folded at the scored lines and adhered the folded ends to make the box.
To create the windows on the front panel, I die-cut one of the panels with the window frame from Peek A Frame Creative Cuts. I used washi tapes to help me line up the two windows evenly (See picture below). You can make a simpler version of this by taking out the windows and die-cutting the front with a rectangle die, or use a paper trimmer to create a opening for a regular shadow box card.
I decided to use vellum to cover the windows to hide the images from the recipient (you can use acetate instead for a see through look). I adhered the trimmed vellum to the inside window, and for a cleaner look, I also glued on die-cut window frames on top of the vellums.
To make the two hill panels that hold the images inside the box, I trimmed cardstock to 6 1/4" x 1 1/2 and 6 1/4 x 2", and scored lines at 3/8 and 5 7/8 to create tabs. I die-cut the panels with the Landscape Trio Creative Cuts. I then folded at the score line, and adhered the tabs to the inside of the box.
For the cloud panel, I trimmed white cardstock to 4 3/4 x 5 1/2. I applied Peacock Feathers Distress Ink with a acetate stencil I made with the cloud border die from Landscape Trio Creative Cuts. I adhered this panel to the box card.
I stamped the sentiment from Picnic With Friends and embossed it silver embossing powder. I trimmed it and adhered it to the card front.
Lastly, I stamped the images from Tea With Friends and Picnic With Friends and colored them with Copic markers. I cut them out with the coordinating Tea with Friends and Picnic With Friends Creative Cuts. After, I glued the images to the inside of the box, and the two flying birds were attached to thin strips of acetate.
That's it today, I hope you enjoyed my project! Thank you for stopping by!
