Howdy friends! The MFT June release is now available for purchase! You can find all the new products HERE at the MFT Boutique.
I'm sharing a western themed card today that features the adorable BB Saddle Up & Celebrate stamp set.
To begin, I Copic colored the stamped images from BB Saddle Up & Celebrate and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Before I go into what I used to create my scene, I want to explain that my original intent was to have only one panel with the sandy ground and rocky mountains. However, I didn't like the way the clouds turned out on the first panel, so I made another one similar to it - but then water smeared the ink on the lower parts of the mountain. Instead of doing it for the third time and wasting the other two, I cut off the clouds from the first panel and foam mounted it to the second panel. I guess mistakes can turn out to be good sometimes because I really like the dimension the second layer created on the card.
To create the sandy ground, I used the Drifts & Hills stencils with Antique Linen and a touch of Vintage Photo Distress Oxides. I used Prismacolor pencils to add the grass
To make the rocky mountains, I die-cut a piece of cardstock with BB Icebergs and used the negative cut to ink blend the panels with Vintage Photo and Antique Linen, trying to vary the heights so that they won't all look the same. I also used Prismacolor pencil here to add details to the mountains.
The cloud was made using the Mini Cloud stencil and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide.
That's it for today! Thank you so much for joining me during the July release countdown. I hope you enjoyed my projects. Stop by my blog tomorrow for the Just Add Color feature; I'll be sharing the Copic markers I used to color today's images and more!
