MFT Guest Design: BB Bitty Bears Gift Tags

I'm super excited to be guest designing for MFT this month. It's such an honor to be invited again. For today, I created some fun shaker Birthday and Christmas gift tags using one of my favorite new release stamp set, BB Bitty Bears. Not only are these adorable bears great for making cards, but they are the perfect size for making tags using the Tag Builder Blueprints 5.

To begin, I stamped and colored the images from BB Bitty Bears with Copic markers, and cut them out with coordinating dies. I used a white Gelly Roll Pen on some of the images to add details and highlights.

To create the back panels, I die-cut Bristol cardstock using the solid tag from Blueprint 5. I distressed panels using various Distress Oxides. For the Christmas tags, I added white dots with the Gelly Roll pen on the background as well as the front of the acetate to resemble snow.

I normally use foam tapes for shakers, but for this project, I die-cut 42 white card stocks using the the tag die with the rectangle window. I added 7 layers to each tag, and adhered them together onto the back panel with Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue. With the thin borders, I thought this was a cleaner and neater way to do it.

For the front panels, I die-cut white cardstock using the tag die with the rectangle window for the birthday tags, and a tag die with two windows for the Christmas tags. I adhered trimmed acetate behind all the front panels. After adding the sequins, glitters, and some colored small images (as shown) on top of the back panels, I adhered it closed it with the front panels.

I used the banner die from Blueprint 5 to die-cut 6 white cardstocks, and stamped the sentiments for BB Bitty Bears using Versamark ink. Next, I heat set it using silver embossing powder. I curved the sentiment stamps a little so that it'll match the shape of the banner. Then, I adhered the banners to the front as shown. I also glued on the die-cut circle reinforcements on all the tags. Lastly, I adhered the the bears and added ribbons to complete the tags.

I hope you enjoyed today's post. I will be back again September 15th to share with you two cards that will go with these tags. Till then, happy crafting!
