MFT December Release Countdown - Day 2

Hello, and welcome to the MFT December Countdown Day 2! I hope you've been enjoying this month's sneak peeks so far. All of the wonderful new products will be available in two days, so I hope you've got your wish list ready!

Today, I'm sharing two cards. The first one features the Friendly Forest stamp set along with the coordinating die-namics. To house all the adorable critters, I made an accordion shadow box card that fits into an A-7 envelope. It's my favorite type of card to make these days.

At the bottom of this post, I added links to the products I used for the two cards. Please note: the links to the new release items will not work until Release Day, which is December 5th at 9pm EST.

To begin, I stamped the images from Friendly Forest with various Distress Oxide inks on white cardstock. I added small lines and dots on the critters with colored pencils and a white pen to add more interest. I cut out the critters and the mushrooms with the Friendly Forest coordinating dies.

Then, I die-cut Bristol paper using the Birch Trees and Grassy Hills Die-namics. I blended the die-cut papers using Distress Inks and Distress Oxides as shown in the photo below. I stamped the sentiment on the shortest grass panel with Gathered Twig Distress Ink.

 To build the shadow box, I trimmed kraft cardstock to 4 3/4" x 12" and scored lines at 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2, 3, 9, 9 1/2, 10, 10 1/2, 11, 11 1/2. I folded both ends in an accordion style (see photo below). Then, I trimmed two kraft cardstocks to 4 3/4" x 5 3/4 (adhered to the inside of the folds), one to 4 3/4" x 6 (adhered to the front), and cut out the center with a die that measures 3 11/16" x 4 15/16 from the Rectangle Stax Set 2.

For the sky panel, I trimmed white cardstock to 4 3/4" X 6". I created the sky using a cloud stencil and Peacock Feather Distress Oxide. Then, I adhered the panel as shown.

To finish, I arranged and adhered the grass panels, birch trees and the images to the three die-cut panels as shown. I adhered two of the panels to the inside of the folds, and the one with the sentiment to the front.

My second card features the new Royal Friend stamp set with the coordinating dies. Isn't the bear so cute? I love that you can use this set to make cards for both genders.

To begin, I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out with the coordinating die. I used a white pen to add accents.

To create the front panel, I mixed the Ranger Texture Paste with Stardust Stickles (for shine) and about two drops of Squeezed Lemonade using the Distress Re-Inker (for color). I applied the paste using a palette knife on white cardstock with the Star Celebration Stencil on top.

While that was drying, I die-cut red cardstocks with the Party Banner. I used the die again to die-cut white cardstock. I inked the three white triangles with Lush Lagoon Dye ink and added it to the red banner as shown.

I stamped the sentiment on a trimmed cardstock that was blended with the Lush Lagoon Dye Ink.

To finish, I adhered the sentiment panel, party banner and the bear in the chair with foam squares for dimension.
