MFT / MAY RELEASE COUNTDOWN DAY 5

Hello and welcome to the MFT May Release Countdown kickoff! All of the amazing new products will be available on Tuesday, May 5th at 10AM EDT. Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog every day for the next five days to see the full reveal.

My card features the new BB Gnome Place like Home Die-namics.

To begin, I die-cut the home using the BB Gnome Place like Home Die-namics using MFT cardstocks. I ink blended the edges of some of the die-cuts to create dimension and assembled it as shown. All the inks and the cardstocks I used are listed under the supplies below.

The mushrooms and the rocks from BB Gnome Place like Home Die-namics were die-cut using white cardstock and colored in with Copics. To add the white dots on the mushrooms I used a white gel pen.

The grass panels were die-cut using the Grassy Edges Die-namics with Gumdrop Green cardstock.

The square front panel was ink blended using the Mini Cloud Stencil with Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink. After I stamped the sentiment from the BB Hanging with My Gnomes stamp set.

To assemble the card, I adhered the grass panel to the front panel and foam mounted the rest of the die-cuts on top as shown.

That's it for today. I hope you enjoyed my project. See you again tomorrow for my Countdown Day 4 project.

MFT / APRIL HITS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Hello and welcome to the MFT's April Hits and Highlights.

The challenge for this month:

Making Magic with Mythical Creatures

The purrfect pets in the Caticorn collection are already pretty magical. Beyond your typical coloring however, their horns, tails, and cute little bodies present an excellent opportunity for you to play with other techniques as well. Up the fairy-tale factor by choosing a whimsical palette of colors (our pick is rainbow, obviously!), adding glitter or sparkles, or even imparting a dainty pattern! Our designers are up to the task and we can’t wait to share what they’ve created this month.

My card inspired by the challenge:

To begin, I Copic colored the stamped cat from the Caticorn stamp set and die-cut it with the coordinating Die-namics.

The front panel was ink blended with Distress Oxides. Then, I added splatters of white paint to create tiny stars. After, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Caticorn stamp set.

The large cloud from the Straight-Up Rainbow Die-namics and the small clouds from the Caticorn Die-namics was die-cut and ink blended with Distress Oxides. I also die-cut the stars using the Caticorn Die-namics.

To assemble the card I adhered the clouds and the stars to the front panel. Lastly, I foam mounted the cat as shown.

MFT / APRIL THE BIRTHDAY PROJECT

Hello! I'm back again with the latest The Birthday Project challenge for MFT. The theme for this month is Roundup.

Birthday Inspiration Roundup

The ubiquitous circle is an ideal shape for adding a bit of softness to hard-angled square and rectangle cards. It's also fun to create circular cards to mix things up a bit. Today, our designers are sharing birthday cards that feature circles in a variety of innovative ways.

My card inspired by the challenge:

To begin, I Copic colored the stamped image from the BB Birth-Yay stamp set and cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics.

The circle front panel was die-cut with the A2 Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics using a patterned paper from the Spring Whimsy Paper  Pad and Smooth White Cardstock.

The sentiment from the BB Birth-Yay stamp set was white heat embossed on Tropical Teal card stock and trimmed.

To finish, I adhered the colored image and the sentiment to the front panel as shown.

As always it's a fun challenge! I hope you'll play along with us. Visit the MFT Blog for information on The Birthday Project challenge and for more inspiration from the participating design team members.

Thank you for visiting me today!

Happy stamping!!
